One of my major pet peeves is mushy fruit.

I love fruit and we eat quite a it of it in my house. I HATE mushy fruit though. 

Being a mom to four kids ages 7 and under it gets busy at my house. When one kids is hungry they want a snack then and there. One thing we always have is cut up fruit in the fridge. A quick and easy snack. I find when it’s there, people eat it. Toothpicks make it all the more fun…

My problem is that if it’s not eaten that afternoon and it goes into the fridge it sits in its juice. Honeydew in it’s own juice gets slimy and mushy too fast for my liking (or my kids!) 

This is where quirky comes in. I’m working on creating a product that keeps juice and fruit together in one container but separated by a filter. I’ve been looking all over for one of these but no luck so I’m trying to make my own! Imagine, pineapple that stays crunchy and fresh and you don’t lose the juice but get to bribe your kids with exotic juices during breakfast.

I have been on hiatus from Tumblr over the last two weeks as I had a baby boy. My wife, Toronto Mommy, says it best.

I apologize, once again, for my tumblr hiatus. It’s been a busy 2 weeks here with the arrival of baby #4- a boy!!! After 3 girls it’s taken a bit of time figuring out how to change him without getting peed on. My husband has mastered the “hand shield” but by then it’s usually too late.
I’m going to try to get back into things now that I’m not so bleary eyed.

Now that a boy has entered into the family my girls have had a real eye opening experience watching him get his diaper changed. My favorite line to date is my 5 year old who said “yes, I get to see his line when you change him”. I guess that’s what we are calling it- his line.
